Explore the Middle Goosefare with Saco Valley Land Trust and Saco Bay Trails
Saturday, February 13th 1:00pm-2:00pm, part of the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend
Goosefare Trail in Saco
Whether you are a diehard winter enthusiast or a fan of woodstoves and hot cocoa, this is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors just minutes from downtown Saco.
Celebrate the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend with members of Saco Valley Land Trust and Saco Bay Trails on a guided walk of the Middle Goosefare, a hidden gem of the Saco area. The walk will be easy to moderate in pace, and all ages are welcome to attend. Snow depth will dictate whether this will be a hike or snowshoe. Please come prepared for an outdoor winter event in warm, waterproof footwear, with snowshoes or ice grippers if appropriate. Snow equipment is not provided.
The Middle Goosefare Trail network passes through mixed stand forest within the Goosefare Brook watershed and is just minutes from downtown Saco. It is a result of the collaboration between Saco Bay Trails and Saco Valley Land Trust. SBT created and generously maintains the trail network across permanently preserved lands donated to SVLT by the Mobil Corporation and the Brandt family of Saco.
Hikers will meet in the back parking area of the Big Apple gas station at 742 Portland Rd in Saco, across the street from Barreled Souls Brewery. Please park at the back of the gas station and do not obstruct any operation of the station or its customers.
Check the SVLT Facebook page for a trail condition report closer to the event.
